Montello-Sawyer Memorial Scholarship

The merged chapter will award up to 3 scholarships per year in the following categories: a $1,500 scholarship to a member that is a resident of the State of Maine and is seeking designation or a $1,500 scholarship to a resident of the State of Maine that is an AI professional and is seeking appraiser licensure. Should there not be a sufficient number of applicants within a specific scholarship category than additional scholarships may be awarded to applicants of another scholarship category at the discretion of the scholarship committee.

Who is eligible to apply?
Any Maine member of the Appraisal Institute who is seeking a designation with the Appraisal Institute or seeking licensure.

Scholarship Amount: $1,500.00 towards courses taken through the Appraisal Institute towards an Appraisal Institute designation or state licensing.

How Are the Scholarships Awarded?
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and good standing in the Appraisal Institute organization. Applicants must submit a one page letter on why they would like to be considered for this scholarship. Applications will be reviewed and the final applicant selected by the Scholarship Committee of The Maine Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. The members of that committee will be the Maine Standing Committee, and one member of each of the Montello and Sawyer families.
