It starts with People Helping People, an umbrella organization overseeing the Burlington Community Food Pantry and the Victory Garden. They serve an average of 175 households each month or about 500 people.
The People Helping People Victory Garden is an 8,300 square foot garden complex which includes the Food Pantry’s production garden. The garden is tended by a small group of volunteers and from corporations through volunteer days.
In 2014 the garden produced around 500 pounds of food for the pantry. Last year the garden produced about 3,900 pounds. All of the food produced goes to the Food Pantry.
Following the volunteer event, all are invited to attend a networking event at Tavern on the Square in Burlington, MA.
