Election of 2026 Officers, Directors, and Regional Reps (4-15-25)

Merger with the Maine Chapter is Approved (3-3-21)

The Massachusetts and Rhode Island Chapter and the Maine Chapter of the Appraisal Institute’s merger proposal was approved last week by the Appraisal Institute’s National Board of Directors at its meeting on February 25 -26, 2021. The merger is effective as of March 1st.

Hewitt Fund Scholarship Update (3-11-19)

The Hewitt Fund Scholarship Committee is pleased to offer a Real Estate Appraisal Education Scholarship.    In 2017, the Hewitt Fund Scholarship Committee voted to extend the Demonstration of Knowledge Scholarship for AI Candidates indefinitely.  For more information visit, the Hewitt Scholarship page. 

Board Approves to Recommend Plan of Merger with Rhode Island Chapter (10-9-12)

On Thursday, October 4th via a Special Meeting of the Board of Directors held via conference call, the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Chapter passed the following motion “To advance to the membership for review and approval the proposed Plan of Merger of the Massachusetts and the Rhode Island Chapters with a recommendation by the MA Chapter of the AI Board of Directors, for support of approval”. Motion passed unanimously.

Severe Weather Cancellation Policy

To find out the status of a scheduled class or program during severe weather conditions or other emergency related situations, please call the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Chapter of the Appraisal Institute’s offices at 781-397-8922 for a recorded message which will be posted by 6:00 am the day of an offering. Weather-related class cancellations will also be posted on the website. In most cases, an email will also be sent to students. However, students who have a question about the status of a class should check the website.  Be advised that cancellations will only occur for the most severe conditions
